The team isn’t the problem.
So the window is real, but the problem isn’t that your team is too slow. Nobody can respond to web forms and emails and phone calls all at the same time in under a minute.
The real problem is that your team doesn’t know the lead is there.
The shared inbox problem
So a common setup people use is a shared inbox. There’s no assignment. There’s no alert.
If they text one of your agents or one of your guys from your team, they may get back to it or they may be busy at the time and they just forget about it.
There’s no accountability. So nobody owns it.
Leads falling through the cracks. Probably heard of these phrases before. And this is probably how you’re feeling.
So it’s not a training problem. It’s a setup problem.
After hours is the worst version
And the worst version of this happens in the after hours.
That’s probably why your agents are working around the clock, like fielding the calls, because when someone wants to strike a deal, they might not always be available during business hours.
So if you’re getting a call at 6, 7 p.m. and there’s nobody at the office to field that call, usually it’s up to the agent and their individual systems that they put out to solve that issue. But it really is just up to them and whether they follow up correctly.
So if your agents are busy and a lead comes through, they forget about it. That lead’s gone. That’s a lot of revenue that you’re missing out on.
What missed leads cost
Here’s the thing. If you take 500 leads a month and only half get followed up on, got a 10% close rate, it’s pretty low.
And a $2,000 average deal, that’s at the low end, that’s 50k a month that you’re not collecting.
And that’s not a guess. That’s just math.
It’s about making sure that the gaps are closed, making sure that every opportunity for more revenue for your company is being captured. Because if it’s not you, it’s going to be the next person down the list.
