I’m going to tell you exactly what tasks AI is really good for and which tasks AI is really not good for right now.
AI is good at talking back to people
This one might seem counterintuitive. AI is really good at talking back to people.
It doesn’t always have the right answers and it doesn’t always give you the right responses, but it’s really good at coming up with any kind of reply for any kind of subject that you ask it for.
So I’d say functions that use AI as a chat bot just to talk to people, maybe explain their company or more information about their company, are really good.
AI is good at calling tools and commands
And if you design it right, AI is really good at calling tools and calling exact commands.
I’m calling this workflow AI. You have a workflow AI that takes a customer’s request and it’s able to issue commands like scheduling, maybe submitting forms, maybe sending a report from your company to them.
AI is really good at performing these kind of commands.
AI is good at summarizing a lot of text
AI is also good with large amounts of text.
For a lot of my clients, those are contract summaries where they have a lot of data, maybe a lot of customer communication, and they want a breakdown or a timeline of what went where, what was being said, what’s the main takeaways.
It’ll take all this data and it’ll summarize it into one paragraph.
Now, if you’ve used AI, you’ll know that it likes to write more than one paragraph. It likes to just fill the screen with text.
But with careful prompting, you can tell it to extract the timelines, extract the data, and not use so many analogies.
AI is good at follow-up sequences
Another thing AI is really great at for right now is follow-up sequences.
These would be if someone reaches out to your company through email, through your chat bot, maybe they call you.
AI is really good at fielding how important they are and who it needs to be routed to.
These are tasks that I think AI really excels at right now.
Obviously, there are a lot of creative people out there that can wrangle AI to do a lot of different things.
