We’re going to run the 20-minute audit on your own week and circle the top three candidates.
All you need is a notebook, pen and paper is what I prefer because I like drawing diagrams. And a computer, a laptop.
List the tasks you repeat
So I want you to look at your week and look at the many tasks that you do on a day-to-day basis or a weekly basis and now count how many times those tasks run.
Look for the tasks you missed
So step two is the 20-minute audit. So I want you to take this list of tasks that you are saying that you’re doing every day, and I want you to start checking them and start looking for other tasks that you may have missed.
This might be checking your email a bunch. This might be copying over details from one calendar to another.
Try to record every single one of those on paper so that you have a data bank to store with. Especially the admin tasks and the non-customer facing tasks.
Why the audit is worth the time
You don’t have to do this part. You can just go off what you got in the first step.
I highly recommend it because not everything on your list will be a great candidate. So if you only have the capacity to maybe build one or two really solid automations, you want to know which ones are going to be the most important to your business.
Rank what you find
What you want is high volume, low variability, high value, and high vulnerability.
What you’re looking for is tasks in your day or week that are hitting the right values for that. You want to be looking for these tasks that you’re doing throughout your week.
Circle the top three candidates.
Time saved is money saved
The automations that save you time are saving you money because you can focus on the more pressing matters.
And the alternate of that is that the automations that are not saving you time are increasing the likelihood of bringing in revenue for your company.
A good example is our one-minute lead response system, which makes it so that within one minute of a prospect showing interest in our company they get a potential call, text message or email.
